Lately I have endured a condition I call "blog block".  As you may guess, one of the strongest symptoms of blog block is the large gap of time in between blog posts.

What causes blog block?  Here are some of my opinions:

  • Work demands
  • Personal/Family demands
  • "It has already been blogged about..."
  • Writing something else (book, article, courseware) - thus tired of writing

The bottom line is that blog block happens when I assign it a low priority in my mind.  I have friends that blog dutifully, and some who rarely post.  Whereas I could justify blog writing as a lower priority compared to work/personal/family demands, I can also vouch for the increased level of focus I receive when I do blog.

So I sat down this morning with the intent to overcome my disease.  Let the next post arrive sooner than later!
